Open since 1998, Aylanto is the reliable choice for a long dinner in Gulberg. The upstairs room takes larger groups; the courtyard is best on winter evenings. Valet parking on the MM Alam side after 7 pm.

We took the courtyard table at 8 and stayed till closing. The grilled sole is the thing to order — ask them to hold the butter sauce. Service slowed once the room filled up, but the manager sent over dessert without being asked.

Quiet at lunch which is exactly what I wanted. Set menu is ₨2,200 and includes soup. Wi-Fi held up for a two-hour call.
